Dawn and her family are the sweetest hosts at the Sunshine Lodge! We had an amazing time staying in the quaint little cabins on the beautiful lake. My only complaint has nothing to do with them - on the weekend the lake was very active and I learned that airboats are LOUD as they fly by on the water at top speeds! It's not a large property, but if you want a beautiful view of the lake on the end of a road in the center of Florida, this is it. There's a kitchenette in the cabin stop by the grocery store or know that Door Dash and Instacart can deliver necessities and you don't have to leave paradise until you are ready.
Cottages are clean and super cute each having its own theme. Each cottage has a beautiful view of the lake and most have a screened in Lani to sit and watch the world go by. Ash is very helpful and caring making sure guests are happy. I have stayed 3 times so far and can't wait to get back to Sunshine Lodge, hope you check it out.
What a lovely place to stay! We were in the "Biking the Withlacoochee Trail" cabin and the bike theme was delightful. Sunshine lodge is close to the trail so it would be easy to just ride from there through the quiet residential streets. The owner was very nice. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks for a great time.
Fantastic cabins! This is our third visit, and as always, Dawn and her family are the very best hosts! We have always stayed in Cabin 1, and it has been completely remodeled, is beautiful, and as always, spotless!! This is the place to be, not just in Floral City, but in this whole area. Definitely a 5-Star operation. We’ll for sure be back!!
Ash is a very nice and friendly owner. He always had a smile on his face. The grounds are beautiful and quiet! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a getaway from busy urban life. Only drawback, and a very minor one, was that the coffee maker in my room was non-functional and nasty. But a quick drive to Robin's Country Kitchen for some fresh coffee was close and good.
We stayed at Sunshine Resort couple weeks ago. My first time & was better than I had thought. Dawn & Dean, the owners, are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in #3 which had recently been redone. Very nice, everything you need. Nice screened in porch in back overlooking the lake. We took our pontoon & enjoyed the huge lake. Definitely will go back again. Highly recommend.
The BEST! Dawn helped me schedule rooms for family and friends flying from Texas and Connecticut and it was wonderful! The accommodations were amazing, the Halloween decorations will knock your socks off and the friendliness beyond imagination! I cannot be more grateful to Dawn and her family who own/operate Sunshine Lodge. We will have more visitors in the future and won’t hesitate to book their stay here. Not to mention, my 5 grandsons used their loaner trikes everyday! A very loved location and amazing memories.
We wanted something different from a big hotel on the beach to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. We found it in Floral City FL! Sunshine Lodge had the amenities we needed but also the rustic feel we were looking for. Quiet, clean, safe, and just like our parents rented when we were kids. Dawn is a fantastic caring owner and the fish’n was great also. And our dog Bob Barker gives it two paws up!
What a pleasant surprise this turned out to be! The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable. The bathroom could use a little elbow grease, but it wasn't bad. The grounds are beautiful and quiet. Dawn was so nice! We can't wait to come back when we can stay longer than 1 night.
Spent the weekend here in the fisherman's cabin! Dawn made check in easy. Cottage was very clean, roomy and loved the fishing theme decor. A/C was nice and cold and looked new.i really enjoyed the back screened porch 5 feet from the water. Such a beautiful view. Ash takes immaculate care of the grounds. Green, green grass and some of the most beautiful cypress trees surrounded by amazing, colorful shrubbery and such. Rates are reasonable and we will definitely be back in the future.
